It's OK Thursday

It's okay.....

that I am sitting in my PJ's on my day off working on grad school homework

that I ate eggs for lunch

that I went on a cleaning frenzy this morning and I'm still not done

that I enjoy going completely make up free all day...pure bliss

that I am so excited for husband to be home from his trip in less than 24 hrs

that I am excited for the weekend and to have a date night with my handsome husband

that I would rather rearrange the house then do a small paper...

Ahh...

I've been so busy lately with subbing, which is fabulous but exhausting. I have 4 days this week and so far 3 next week! My first round of classes is almost over and I can't believe it.  I handed in this big Lit Review this past weekend and I am so nervous to get my grade back, blah.  I just started this degree but I decided I want to also add on to it.  Since my degree is a form of a counseling degree, I can take a few more classes and add some more hours, etc and get my masters in LPC, aka licensed professional counseling.  This would open up more doors for me as far as jobs.  Right now thinking of all this schooling exhausts me but I know it will be so worth it.

On another note, a few posts ago I talked to you about the new Proactiv Plus that I purchased--I can see a change in my skin, it really looks so much better BUT just like the regular Proactiv, it did start to dry my skin out after a few days. I was using 2x a day, morning and night BUT I wasn't using any moisturizer, which I normally always do. SO I highly recommend to make sure you are using lots of it while using this product, so your skin does not dry out!!! Right now I am giving my skin a break from Proactiv Plus until I can get my skin back to normal!

Let's Talk About Last Night..

The Oscars....I of course missed the first part of them because I was finishing up grad school papers...yuck!

Did you notice all the men sporting beards on the red carpet last night?? One stood out to me in particular and his name is...Chris Pine, he is just one good looking man...whew.

I always have adored Jennifer Lawrence and after last night, I love her even more! Yes, she fell going up the stairs to accept her award, but she bounced back perfectly and I LOVED that she got up there and basically made fun of herself! It wasn't awkward at all!!

On another note, I am looking forward to watching the Bachelor tonight....I'm still bummed about him sending home Des last week but I'm looking forward to seeing how these dates go tonight...

Sunday Social

1. What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?
Glasses and braces in my opinion! HA

2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pics?
I had one best friend in high school, Kylie! Here is the summer before our senior year in high school at Disney in Florida!

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?
A typical weekend for me in high school was usually hanging out with friends or hanging out with my high school boyfriend.

 4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.
I had one boyfriend in high school, I dated him my Jr & Sr year and into college but then I broke up with him my sophomore year in college. That's it.

5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!
Not that I can recall.

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?
Although high school was full of drama at times, I wouldn't change a thing about it...not the people I dated, the friends I had, nothing! If I could relive one moment, it would probably be Prom.

Friday Frenzy

Oh my weekend is not going to be a fun one.  I have to finish my Lit Review and start a rough draft for another paper. UGH UGH UGH. This is the hardest week yet but thankfully it's almost over and once it is, I can relax.  I think this quote best suits my situation....

So true. Especially in grad school.

2 more weeks left then HELLO week break before I start 2 entirely new classes!
I am glad to be feeling back to normal today, I had a migraine for 4 days straight, which made writing a paper next to impossible!

A few posts back I talked about cutting my hair...I've been growing it out for 2 years now and it's just gotten to that point where I can't stand it anymore. I had an appt to get my hair colored yesterday afternoon and I was only supposed to get a trim...well I chopped a little hair off, it feel so much better, plus it's hair, it will grow back! Here's a picture....

I always feel so much better after a cut and color!

I hope ya'll have a more exciting weekend planned than I do!

Thursday Thoughts

Whenever I was in high school, I had minor acne like any teenager, so a friend of mine turned me to Proactiv and I loved it.  However, I only used it here and there over the years.    Lately I have felt like my skin has been hating on me and I saw an advertisement for a new line called Proactiv Plus. I thought, why not give it a shot?  I ordered it! It came in the mail yesterday and I've only used it two times but I have to say, my skin feels great so far. It feels refreshed and smooth! Obviously, I can't give a good solid review until after I've been using it for awhile but I am really pleased so far! My kit came with a couple different things:

kitImage
    • Skin Smoothing Exfoliator
    • Pore Targeting Treatment
    • Complexion Perfecting Hydrator
    • Mark Fading Pads
    • Eye Brightening Serum

I also received a free gift: Skin Purifying Mask
For more info on all of these products click HERE

I will give a solid review in about a month!

    My Etsy Shop

Last year I opened up an etsy shop but I never put anything in it! HA. Well today I finally did!

    CHECK ME OUT!

When I was planning my wedding, I was searching EVERYWHERE for a unique program design for my ceremony and I could not for the life of me find anything I loved! So, I decided to just come up with something of my own and I DID! It turned out far better than I could have ever hoped for and I loved designing it and working on it, it was so much fun!!!

I can put a unique and personal spin on: Save the Dates, Wedding Programs, Bridal Shower Invites, Baby Shower Invites, Birthday Party Invites AND MUCH MORE!

    PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!!

    My Love of Makeup.....

Over the years, I have always been on a constant search for the perfect foundation.  I am very fair skinned, so it has always been difficult to find a good match for me. Everything I would buy would either make my skin look yellow or it would be too dark.  Last year I finally decided to check out Sephora and that's when my love affair began! I went in and one of the associates was able to help me find the right shade and brand for my skin. I found out I had pink undertones...NEVER knew that! I also found out that I needed to exfoliate more, so that my makeup would look better!

My absolute favorite foundation in the whole world is by MAKE UP FOR EVER: HD Invisible Cover Foundation. This stuff is amazing, not only does it match my skin tone, it covers well BUT it's LIGHTWEIGHT! How awesome is that! It is pricey at $42.00 a bottle but I would rather spend the extra money on something I love than waste my money over and over again on a product that I do not! PLUS, a little goes a long way, so you can make it last

MAKE UP FOR EVER - HD Invisible Cover Foundation

Another great product by MAKE UP FOR EVER:HD Microfinish Powder! I love this product because it sets your make up! You apply this with a round brush after you've put on your foundation.
It keeps your face looking fab.  This will cost you $32.00 but it will last you a LONG time because you don't need to use much at all!

These are just two products that I love from Sephora, trust me there are many more but I will save those for another day!!

    Say What?!

I TOTALLY called it on that ex-boyfriend showing up...I knew it seemed staged and it WAS! What wasn't staged was how that brother of Des acted! He was a total and complete jerk!!! He needs a swift kick in the butt!! I really think he may have been the reason she went home!

I was so upset whenever Sean sent Des home, my heart broke, I really felt like he sent the wrong girl home!!! Who should have gone home? Catherine. I don't feel like her heart is really in it and that she isn't ready to settle down. I mean for goodness sakes, her sisters asked her point blank if she would say yes if Sean proposed and her response was "I would try it out"  You do not "try" engagement out!!!!!! She should have went home, I thought for sure she would have.  I have a hunch she will be gone next week!

    Lindsay
Lindsay is my top runner and pick for Sean...and it has nothing to do with the fact that she is a teacher or military brat, although it doesn't hurt!I just think she seems like an all around genuine person and she has managed to stay out of the drama throughout this show.

I honestly had the final two pegged as Lindsay & Des and I think either one would have been perfect for him...I secretly am hoping he brings Des back but I don't see it happening! Who is your pick for the final rose?

    OH MY.....YUM-O

So tonight.....I decided to bake a cake and I watched to use a chocolate icing, so I searched and searched the net for a good recipe. I came across one on the Martha Stewart website and it has to be
the most amazing, best tasting chocolate icing I've ever had or made!

Here is the recipe below but you can also see it at this link....I just used a different form of chocolate than they did.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups sugar
    • 1 cup egg whites (about 6 large)
    • 1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
    • 16 ounces dark chocolate, melted and cooled slightly (I used 2 cups of Hershey's Cocoa instead)

     Directions
    1. Place sugar and egg whites in the bowl of an electric mixer set over (but not touching) a pan of simmering water. Whisk constantly until mixture is heated and sugar is dissolved. Attach bowl to an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment and continue whisking until cooled and stiff peaks form, about 7 minutes.
    2. With the mixer running, add butter, one piece at a time, until completely incorporated. Continue whisking until a light, fluffy cream has formed. Stir in chocolate until well combined.

    Today......

My husband and I are both off work! yippie.  Not sure what big plans we have for today, I haven't been feeling the best, woke up with a nice migraine this morning topped with nausea, super! I needed to clean though...so somehow I did it anyways. Let's just say the smell of Clorox when your head is pounding is a pretty bad combo! Oh well, at least I got it done!

This weekend was pretty fab, we finally went out and did something. The last few weekends, we've stayed at home or just around the area. Regardless, my weekends are made up of a lot of grad school homework! Anyways, Friday night we went down the road a little and ran some errands...and my hubs took me to...SONIC haha. So bad for me but we rarely go! Saturday we went down the hill to Palm Springs/Palm Desert and went out to dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen. We've never been to one before, but it was super good. I ordered a White Pizza with a White Sangria and the hubs ordered this amazing salad. We then split a piece of Red Velvet cake. YUM-O. Then we went off to the MOVIES and saw "Safe Haven" I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anybody, even my husband liked it.  It wasn't cheesy or overly ridiculous like some romance movies can be. I am big fan of N. Spark, books and movies!!!!

Tonight is BACHELOR night....I can't believe how hooked I have gotten on this silly show! Looking forward to the drama that comes from this ex-bf showing up. Although, I watched the little preview on the ABC site and I felt it looked a little staged to me...but that's tv for you!

    Monday...already?

I can't believe it's Monday already! Geesh. This weekend was pretty much another laid back one, I worked on some homework, cleaned and relaxed. So far I have two subbing jobs this week, one is Jr. High English & the other is 5th grade. Looking forward to both, especially since they are on the older end. When I was first getting my degree in El Ed, you had to pick what age group you wanted certified in...I always wanted to do 4-8, and I think I was on the right track!

I'm excited for the Bachelor to be on tonight, I hope he gets rid of the crazy Tiara soon, she has a few screws loose, well maybe a lot! I hope he can see through the fake front she puts on around him. She MUST go. I don't always watch every season of the Bachelor and even if I start out watching it, I usually stop doing so after a few episodes. BUT this time, I have been able to stay interested and the funny thing is...my husband actually enjoys watching it with me. Apparently, he's not the only man who likes the show because many of my friends tell me their husband will watch it with them as well. Too funny.

I am seriously in need of some coffee, I was on base early this morning to tutor and started heading for Starbucks but then decided against it...BIG MISTAKE! blah.

What did everyone think of the Grammy's last night? I enjoyed most of it, I didn't watch the entire thing though. I recorded it and I should go back and finish watching it! Let me just say when Kelly Clarkson accepted her award, she was all over the place....a little too much to drink, maybe? haha. I really enjoyed the performance of Maroon 5 & Alicia Keys. LOVED IT! As far as attire....some of the outfits, I was wondering what these people were thinking!? Honestly, I really loved Katy Perry's dress minus the major cleavage.

I hope this week goes as fast as last week and that it goes well!!
