A Great Recipe

Last Sunday my husband and I made this amazing Garlic Pot Roast, it was so tasty!!

I just wanted to share this recipe with you and I urge you to try it as well!

Garlic Pot Roast

1 boneless beef chuck roast (3lb)

4 garlic cloves peeled and halved

3 teaspoons garlic powder

3 teaspoons Italian salad dressing mix

½ teaspoon pepper

1-tablespoon canola oil

 3 cups water

1 envelope onion soup mix

1 beef bouillon

5 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered

1-pound fresh baby carrots

1 large onion, cut into 1-inch pieces

1.     Using the point of sharp knife, make eight slits into the roast. Insert the garlic into slits. Combine the garlic powder, salad dressing mix and pepper; rub over the roast. On the stovetop brown the roast in oil on all sides; drain.

2.     CROCKPOT OPTION: Combine the water, onion soup mix and bouillon; pour over roast in the crockpot and cover. I cooked it on high for about 6 hours.  I then added the potatoes, carrots and onions about 2 hours into it.

OVEN OPTION: Combine the water, onion soup mix and bouillon; pour over roast, cover and cook it in the oven at 325F for 1-½ hours. Then add the potatoes, carrots and onions, cover and bake another hour or until the meat and veggies are tender.

  1. Mmm, sounds yummy! I am definitely going to make this although I will probably use pork instead of beef. And definitely cook it in the crock pot! :) The smell of this in my home all day will be amazing! Thanks for sharing :):)
